The 3 most important steps for a post on instagram

How to stay creative?
On Instagram, different from another social media for photographers like Uplash or Ello, posting frequently is kind of obligatory to keep alive on the platform. Try don’t post on Instagram for a week or a month, you will be considered a missing person, but, posting every day three pictures per day can be a little hard if you’re not posting cats, food or travel pictures. Something that works for me is looking around myself, the real world and the visual messages received along the day. I try to focus on a subject or context when I am shooting, have an idea on my mind helps to take decisions, this is the first thing I do, I just look around, the place, the people, the situation guide my ideas and drive me for the second step. I am all the time looking what people are posting and trying to understand what they are trying to say by their pictures. Looking for what people are doing gives me clues and I can always think to go on an opposite side or try to improve some idea, try the same concept with a different meaning, in a different place, or different order, it’s a challenging game for myself, look to photographers that I love, be inspired to them and try to copy their style but putting my eyes and my heart on it. Another way to be creative is escape from the hype, in my opinion, if you wanna have a solid perspective about what you do or about what you’re trying to create, keep far from the hype, reject the fads, it can look cool but its only a replication without any sense of something that looks cool. Shot thinking to look for your pictures in the future and have the same feeling in your guts.

How to shot better?
What I mean whit shotting better is not in common whit shot as a professional, have the best gear, go to amazing places, shot better is keep something consistent, doesn’t matter how you’re shooting, phone, camera, analogical, what we wanna see is nice pictures, so shoot better is much more about your taste, your way to tell something, how you present the history printed in some picture. I started my career before to go studying graphic design on a university, I was a photographer assistant, I worked whit this guy about 2 years and I learned a lot with him, he is that kind of photographer who can shot everything, he is not stocked in an only one style or only one business of photography. During this time what I liked the most was make pictures from the backstage, when he was in the studio with models I was shotting the staff, the walls, the equipments, everything around, for me, this side was the side of the real things, another side was a world of interpretation, where the scenery, the light, the people were completely created to that time showing they face expressions, but in another side I could capture real emotions, real people, real worker life. For some time I made from this a routine and I tried to make this better and better, I ran through pictures of bored people drinking coffee and models waiting to look at their phones to peoples faces os frustration, happiness and thoughtful eyes, I could felt how I changed and how I was shooting better, how training my eyes day by day helped to improve my technique and my style in a search of emotions and expressions.

How to write?
For me, a post on Instagram is just complete whit a nice text, I believe that pictures can talk about their selves but, when the post has a nice introduction or some engaging description it becomes even more powefull because it creates connection, it creates expectations and imagination of people whos looking to the pictures and reading the description, for many times I catch myself asking what happened before the shot, or how the person made the shot and what the history behind. I follow many people who don´t have nice pictures but they know very well how to describe and motivate by the words they write, they, not photographers, they are not trying to have a million followers they are just showing the pictures and telling the history about the picture. It brings the picture, a normal photography to a next level where they really represent something, where they tell history or they make part of something. So in your next Instagram post risk to write something, more than hashtags, put something more on your pictures, make a question, answer a question, start a discussion, engage your viewers, make then participate, maybe they will answer in your commentaries, have in mind that your picture is the medium that people will come to you and visit your profile and like your pictures, and writing will make then participate, talk and write to you.

I am writing also on medium you can follow me here.

Keys to read a complicated book and be delighted.

Or how to get the right keys to the castle.

Or how to get the right keys to the castle.

On my daily research, I am all the time having to deal with new writers, thinkers, many genius people that wrote so important things and in some way, I need at least understand or try to understand one percent of they know and what they importance for my research.

Throughout the time I am trying to develop some consistent way to deal with this necessity to absolve a fast knowledge in a consistent way.

Understand a profound, poetical, historical or political concept is something that requires some dedication, a philosophic concept is not understood in a few lines, very often you have to go deep, in some cases, most of them deep is not even the beginning. I wanted cry many times trying to understand Heidegger or Kant for example.

I don’t have any presumption to explain any concept or make you follow my way to do things, but honestly, I will write what works for me when I am trying to get into some authors ideas and discover their world.

#1 — Understanding the pass.

For me, the best way to start understanding something is from the beginning. Go back to the past is reflect on the time, is build connections through the discover till the development of an idea. Review the pass will always help to make us understand how and where something started and them capt they reasons and principles. Going back to the history of the thought is the most important thing for me when I am trying to collect information.

#2 — Commentators

The importance of reading commentators, they are the people who before you scaled the Everest, so they know well the easiest way to achieve the top. A few years ago I was front of the Nietzche books and lost de on his concepts, Nietzche writes by aphorisms and usually don’t explain what he’s trying to say.

In this case, had a commenter able to guide me when I get lost for many times on the Saara that is the Nietzche mind was extremely needed.

3 - The Lovers

Read authors who love your author.

Harold Bloom was a kind of guru for me when I was reading Shakespeare. When I was reading Shakespeare I had many curiosities about many many things, Shakespeare is really fascinating and when you get his world you get delighted.

Harold Bloom take me by my hands and together we were visiting each room from Shakespeare castle, he gave me the necessary keys, he gave me reasons to keep a hard work, and he made me even more fascinated with Shakespeare works.

 #4 — The Antagonists

The opposite side of love also works well if you consider that someone that decides to criticise or oppose they opinion about an author or idea, they at least supposed to know very well about what they are talking. Leszek Kołakowski a famous polish writer who has important books and theses about Marxism, Socialism and Communism was a great antagonist of all those ideas revealing the B-side of what is known in common sense about those themes and about they lovers and seekers. Read and understand the other side of an idea is very important to me, this is how I can build my point of view, comparing the ideas and putting things together to find out if they support or destroy each other.

#5 — Read again and again.

The last but not the least.

I am re-reading books always when they come to my mind, even if its just a page or a chapter, or even some quotes. Reading again brings always something new, something that we couldn’t get in the first time o something we weren’t ready to understand in that moment. For me reading again is a part of the first read, even if I am reading again a book that I read for the first time ten years ago. Many times I caught myself reading something and thinking “wow, so this is what they mean, great”. I am very often very surprised.

I shared with you my keys to get the mind or a complex author or book, I am curious to know yours, comment, share this article with your friends and clap to make this article keep alive.

Hello World!

The best books I read in 2017 and what I learned from them.

My idea here is not to make a review or show quotes from the books or something like that, if you want to know better about the booksand read a real rellease you have Goodreads website which I recommend, all the books are linked with Amazon Store in case you want to buy some of them.
My main idea here is to put out something more personal I will try to write more with my guts and less with my fingers, so let’s fill some lines from the marks which all of those books they left on me.

Sapiens
by Yuval Noah Harari

Wow this book is incredible, I am still feeling the hit.
Probably you heard many times about that book along this year and perhaps you also heard about another book titled Homo Deus: A brief history of tomorrow from the same writer Yuval Noah Harari, don’t forget this name.
Being fast, The book Sapiens takes an approach from 70 thousand years of the humankind history being said as a time lime, where the sapiens survive they own revolution.

So, I highly recommend those two books, in my opinion, Harari has some intuitions extremely smart, others very polemic, and some ideas which i kind of disagree, but it needs to be read and understood.
When I finished the first book the first word that comes in my mind was “fear”, fear about a future, fear about the world and how we had walking in this journey since the “beginning” as talented described for Harari, it’s quite scare no shadow of doubt.
His books impose on us challenges, but challenges that us, people, democracies and societies will need to deal in a nearest future. Harari expose real problems of society, this is no science fiction, it is all about things that already happens.

As I can’t wait for start reading the book Homo Deus this line finish here, but keep reading down.

The Slowness
by Milan Kundera

This book is not a novel is a meditation on the idea of Slowness and what it brings to us when too much speed takes away on our lives. The void and the lack of ourselves.

The book brings extremely important reflections, so surely this book will be a book of inquiries, that book that you always re-read for some reason.
One of the great concepts treated in this book is the idea of leisure and inoccupation, in which Milan Kundera differentiates in a masterful way.
As in our society the idea of free time is very badly seen, the reflection placed here that leisure is exactly the necessary time that we all need to be with ourselves, so important and so different from unemployment or leisure much closer to an investment in itself, and this is far from tedious to the point of unoccupied.

Another great achievement that Milan’s brings to us the concept that we are like a “dancer”, a reflection on this society of the spectacle in which we all live and that dominates us completely and makes us do not do what we want to sustain a vision that we want to sell to others.

Very often many things appear front of my eyes through my daily research about cinema, and this time with this book wasn’t different.
I’ve been lost the last months on Asian movies, I was seeking a railway of the Cinema of the Slowness, and being delighted with extreme long shots as in the hipper-real cinema from Lav Diaz a Philippine director who is able to bring me satisfaction and boredom at the same time.

I have to confess that, that book teaches me a lot of cinema, after read that book I was able to understand that I don’t follow any theoretical framework, dogmatic methodology, on my movies and I am trying more and more be very organic, just follow.

Is God Happy? Selected essays
by Leszek Kołakowski

I’ve been trying to learn Polish in the last few months, and one of my strategies to get in on that hard job was through the Polish culture, the polish cinema is a friend since a long time, names as Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieślowsk, Agnieszka Holland, Roman Polanski, Andrzej Żuławski and many others just for cite a few, they were my first touch with Polish culture, so a next step was discovering the rich Polish Literature. Walking buy a Polish book store some time ago I was in search for Polish writers that had released book in English, for my luck the simpatico girl presented Kołakowski, Czesław Miłosz and Stanisław Lem, they had only one book from each of them there and I catch fast Kołakowski and Czesław Miłosz, but I promised the book seller to comeback and buy the another one I have left.
Since them I am discovering many important aspects of the Poland history and culture through the literature, cinema, music, traveling on the cities, meting people and the easiest way and I have to admit because it’s a very pleasant one, reading polish writers, I already have my favoured, and for sure Kołakowski is on the top 5.

Do you remember all those bullshits you’ve probably learned on the school?
Yeah, reading Kołakowski you describe how big those bullshit they were, how destructive for people, culture, and an era it can be.

Leszek Kolakowski is of course best known as an explicator and critic of Marxism, there’s no better way to learn and to understand what Marxism is than that for a person who suffer by the power of these words applied by a dictatorial regime on communism in a utopic dream in search of the socialism. So, this book is about trues, experiences, ideologies, is a big reflection about history, and the most important, Kołakowsk deal with some of the eternal problems of philosophy and the most vital questions of our age.
